Look at Australians 55 years old and older they look like weather worn , you have to be so careful in the sun in this country, you can just about feel your self burning , throw smoking i n the mix and yeah you have a lot of people who look way older than what they are, and that is never a good look.

You are Who??? Never heard of you

I’d rather keep seeing you guys in the videos than the newer guys. They just don’t feel very Mind Pump, and I tend to skip anything with them in it at this point. I’m sure they’re wonderful people, but they seem like they’d appeal to a demographic younger than what your podcast demographic probably is. If that’s the intent, great, but that probably means I’ll be sticking to the podcast then. Keep it up!

Vitamin D deficiency has been defined by the Institute of
Medicine and an Endocrine Society practice guideline as a
    level of serum 25-OH vitamin D less than 20 ng/mL (1,2).
The Endocrine Society went on to further define vitamin D
    insufficiency as a level between 21 and 29 ng/mL (2).

The mushrooms need to be placed in the sun before consuming for optimum vitamin d in the mushrooms.

  10. V4D2 on April 21, 2021 at 5:21 pm

    Thanks for this..Sal.
All this November weather is making it really hard to keep motivated.
I suspect sunlight and Vit D have a LOT to do with it.
Would you recommend the JUUV or any similar product?
I assume the near infrared spectrum, is no way enough..
    Cheers from Portugal !

It could be any number of things, but last winter I had a diet including many of the mentioned foods above and 10,000 iu of a D3 pill every other day and seemed to have better mood and energy throughout. Could have been because of raised hormone levels, or a milder Michigan winter!?

I give my girl vitamin D on the regular

  16. Shauna Carpenter on April 21, 2021 at 5:28 pm

Yes, all true, mine is at 27, so I’m really fatigued and have been anxious for no reason. Taking D3 with fat at 3k but may do more. Sucks. But I think vegans usually do the liquid supplement. Should I do liquid instead of pills?

  17. Mount Olympus Vitamins on April 21, 2021 at 5:28 pm

    Great info!

  18. Angela Duran on April 21, 2021 at 5:28 pm

This is helpful. Mine vitamin D is 17.9 which that is not normal

  19. T Law on April 21, 2021 at 5:30 pm

Your a moron there are thousands of prisoners who get 1 hr of sunshine a day for 30 years on a bad diet and they do not suffer low levels of vit d there are people that live in the north of the world were they get 6months of darkness every year again they do not suffer with vit d levels your talking out your arse do some research first before you start talking alot of crap

  23. tobarstep on April 21, 2021 at 5:39 pm

My Dr includes a D test in their standard blood workup.

  24. Chri Stina on April 21, 2021 at 5:39 pm

I was *dead tired* a few weeks ago, blood tests showed very low levels of Vitamine D. Bought a good supplement + ate sardines daily. My fatigue is almost gone a few weeks later! And yes, I felt anxious for no reason too, gone now.

  25. Burnich on April 21, 2021 at 5:39 pm

Thanks for the information. I didn’t know egg yolks have vitamin D. Where I live now, Denmark, is pretty shitty in this time of the year, since there is little to no sunlight and the sun sets early and raises late.
But, as you said, if nothing can be done through food or sunlight, I can always supplement, which I will think about, since I do think I already have enough of vitamin D which I get from foods.

  26. One Health on April 21, 2021 at 5:41 pm

Great information. The following video describes the research demonstrating how vitamin D is critical in all stages of COVID-19 as well as why vitamin D stops the cytokine storm and blood clotting.https://youtu.be/sjyZH3Ib4Ws

  27. Andre Williams on April 21, 2021 at 5:46 pm

Great to see you back in the videos brother! Hope you been well Sal!

  28. Lee Hill on April 21, 2021 at 5:49 pm

"scientist call it a hormone" because it IS a hormone. I find it interesting that you would say that the best way to get it is by getting enough sun without bothering to say anything about when, where and how much. I can only guess that you don’t know. It’s created in out skin with exposure to UVB .Depending on your geographical location and the time of year, you could stand outside with no clothing on in the afternoon clear blue sky for hours and still produce ZERO D because UVB just does not reach the earths surface. IE Canada from November- March zero UVB reaches the surface of the earth and hence zero D can be made. Also, why you are going to say get it from food and listing fortified foods. That’s just a supplement in your food. Just skip right to taking the supplement.

  32. Shawn Cunning on April 21, 2021 at 5:54 pm

There is D3 supplements for vegans. You are spreading incorrect information. A simple google search or a trip to the grocery store will show that.

    Ok I like Tofu

  34. Anna Mlaker on April 21, 2021 at 5:55 pm

Glad more people who can influence are getting the word out about the need to keep vitamin D levels in check! I am also glad that "mainstream" doctors are finally getting on board with checking Vitamin D and recognizing D3 over D2 to help with deficiencies. A few years ago when my daughter went in for a physical to participate in high school sports, I asked the doctor to check her levels and discovered her levels were very low. After a couple/few weeks, her mood and energy levels were up noticeably! If you have a teenager you know to celebrate when they are not grouchy and not bumping heads with her so much was good for my energy levels, too 😉 Now she has it checked yearly and is able to buy over the counter D3 to manage it.

SAL!!!!!!! Dude, its good to see you again!

  36. Mess Over on April 21, 2021 at 5:58 pm

What’s the best vitamin D3 supplement I can buy and is it true I need to add a probiotic to vitamin D in order for it to absorb in my body?

  37. Susan Rodriguez on April 21, 2021 at 5:58 pm

Thank you for the information. It was helpful.

  38. Nick21 on April 21, 2021 at 5:59 pm

how do we know if we getting enough vitamin D in sunshine? your topic focusing much on the meds.

  39. Elvie Lins on April 21, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Great info. Thanks for this Vit D video you have created for us

  40. Kara Waller on April 21, 2021 at 6:01 pm

Wow, you are a very handsome man!! Haha!! I noticed I had low VD when I got a few cavities and was exhausted all the time. It’s common for people in AZ to develop low vitamin d in the summer because it’s so hot no one wants to be outside!!
