She must have some wealthy patients. My insurance, which is not cheap, wouldn’t pay for half the tests she suggests.

Dr. Mimi Guarneri has been an inspiration in my life with her scientific knowledge , experience, and most of all her sharp sense of humor to explain the absurds of the medical establishment and its effects in the consumers you and I living the American Dream. By the way, Dr. Guarnieri advise helped me to change certain bad habits I had coping with Diabetes 2 and at my 65 years old I experience mild arthritis terms well known. And I want to thanks Dr. Guarneri for her lectures, books, and way to make me laugh and modified bad habits by "insights", Wonderful physician USA need to clon in their medical schools…

Its sad that most of this information is available almost anywhere but people are still very ill-informed.

So – decades later mainstream medicine is adopting what naturopath’ cranks’ have been saying for years and poo-pooing?

Interesting presentation. But still a reflection of mainstream medicine’s lack of nutritional knowledge. Saying that whole grain bread is better than white bread is only marginally true. And completely misleading for pre diabetics and diabetics. She also is under the spell of 1970’s science when it comes to diet, repeating the old stuff about "low fat." They discredit themselves by ignoring current research-based knowledge about the benefits of saturated fat. For an introduction see "The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet" by Nina Teicholz.
